The hotel is in the absolute centre of Beijing, very close to the historic areas of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. There is a convenience store adjacent to the hotel and many shops and restaurants closeby. The hotel’s lobby is impressive, and check-in was smooth. While a bit old-ish, the hotel has been kept up reasonably well. We decided to spend some days here as the apartment had a kitchen and allowed cooking to provide for our vegetarian requirements. Our one-bedroom apartment also had a living area with sofa and a working table, and a bedroom-bathroom combination. There was no door between the bedroom and the huge bathtub, which seemed a bit strange at first, but we got used to it. The washing machine in the kitchen was also of good use for us, given our long stay in China. While the hotel room itself was comfortable, we were also very happy with the service of the staff who tried their best to understand and speak in English. I especially thank Henry from the Front Desk, who helped us order food, and organized a car to take us to the Great Wall. (Tip: go to Mutianyu, instead of Badaling which is more crowded). There were two other staff members at breakfast (sorry I forget their names) who would spot us and direct us to the vegetarian food items and got us specially prepared hot food from the kitchen. Our stay was made so much more pleasant because of this service. The only suggestion for the hotel is to renovate to keep up with the more modern hotels in China. But what it lacks in modern decor, it more than makes up with its amazing service. Thank you Marriott staff, and we look forward to coming here again on our next visit to Beijing.

Great if you like sleeping with COCKROACHES

Found cockroaches in our room during the early morning. We asked to be moved to another floor. We were given a downgraded room. The next day, the safety deposit box broke with our money and passports in, took them 1 hour to open it. Management offered us a 4% refund on our stay, trying to convince us its normal to have cockroaches since they have kitchens in the units. What a big joke this is..

I had little expectation of the hotel except that it had to have some minimum standards due to it being a Marriott... The photos on the website are minimal to say the least - there is none of the 2br suite that we had booked! Anyway, it exceeded our expectations due to the comfort of the beds, location to food and the Forbidden City, proximity to public transport, and amazing staff. Shout out to Amanda at the front desk who patiently and efficiently helped us book Universal Studios tickets since one is not allowed to do this if you're outside China! Rooms were spacious, clean and had everything that you need. Would definitely stay at the Imperial Mansion again in Beijing the next time we are there!

Amazing hotel and outstanding staff

I had a great stay at the Executive Apartments. Rooms were spacious and clean with working appliances as well as dishes, utensils and cooking pots. The staff are amazing from the front reception to the maintenance and the hotel manager. They were even kind and generous enough to assist me and the Beijing police recover a lost item and comped my late checkout. The hotel is also close to many restaurants and shopping and cultural centers and easy to grab a train or cab. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm visiting Beijing.

Sadly you don’t get the Marriott Bonvoy perks…. No breakfast, no lounge….. too many others around offering better. The A/c is awful and we booked a suite for 4 and 2 people were expected to sleep on a single, hard sofa bed….. won’t be returning.
